The Candlelight Festival of Lessons & Carols

In the midst of the frantic pace of the season, this service afford you the opportunity to reflect and prepare your spirit for the coming of the Christ.

In the warm ambience of the candlelit church, St. Michael’s Singers offers carols, anthems and motets of intense, mystical beauty. Our voices join together to sing hymns of preparation, hope and expectation. We listen to the reading of biblical story which traces our human pilgrimage, from our rebellion against God to the god new of God’s love for creation and the coming of the Messiah.
Bring a friend or neighbor to share this rich experience in the life of St. Michael’s. A reception follows.

Music in the Parish

St. Michael & All Angels Sunday or Michaelmas, September 27, 2009, was a day of great rejoicing and celebration. We welcomed our new rector, Chris Craun, on her first Sunday and gave thanks with Deacon Marla McGarry-Lawrence's on the fifteenth anniversary of her ordination. George Ivan Smith, who was taking pictures of the services and receptions, recorded this video of St. Michael's Singers singing "Factum Est Silentium" by Richard Dering. Here is an English translation of the text: "There was silence in heaven while the dragon joined battle with the Archangel Michael. A cry was heard - thousands of thousands saying: ‘Salvation and honor and power be to Almighty God.’ Alleluia."
