Welcome to The Rev. Joan M. Yetter

A native of Montana, I have spent most of my life in the Western United States. My husband Ben’s career with JC Penney took us to various parts of the country, finally landing in Southern California for fifteen years. I have a degree in Business Administration which prepared me for several interesting career opportunities, from radio and television copywriter, to grant administrator, to the commercial insurance industry. Much of my life has been spent in discernment, which ultimately led me to enter the ordination process in the Diocese of Los Angeles. I attended seminary at Claremont School of Theology in Southern California and Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA and, after graduation and ordination to the transitional diaconate, was called to serve as Assistant Rector at Holy Spirit Parish, Missoula, Montana. I was ordained to the priesthood in Missoula. After five years at Holy Spirit I was called as Interim Priest in Charge to a four congregation cluster in South Central Montana where I spent two years, and have just completed a two year interim position at Grace Episcopal Church, Jefferson City, Missouri following the 34 year tenure of the previous rector. My husband, Ben and I, have three grown children and a beautiful daughter in law: Justin and his wife Carolyn, Kimberly, and JR, who live in Texas and Southern California. Ben and I are currently remodeling the house in which I grew up in Billings, Montana, which provides a home base for us in the world of transitional ministry. We especially enjoy relaxing in the outdoors: hiking, backpacking, and canoeing.
